Saving energy during the holidays
I have always wanted to know what the best way to save money during the holidays when it comes to my electric bill. I have done a little research about the matter and this is what I have come up with.
Yes turning the lights off saves you money but what you may not think about this holiday season is when you travel there are several appliances which remain plugged in. One of the big energy suckers is the water heater. Unplugging it will save you some real money (opposed to fake money).
Even those little appliances which just have a little LED light needs to be unplugged. Almost everything in the house could be unplugged but the refrigerator is the one you can’t unplug.
I always travel during the holidays but not everyone is like me. You may be the one hosting the party this year. Hosting a party means preparing the food and drinks for your guest. Have cold sandwiches is not the ideal food at a holiday party but you don’t have to use that energy sucking stove.
Saving money while you party is really important but sometimes you can’t. If you live in a deregulated state like Texas you can shop for a cheaper energy rate. It is the holidays which means you have shopped your but off I understand. There are several comparison website which make it easier to find lower prices on electricity. Be sure to look for a company which has a good track record with the Public Utility Commission.
Hey if you like this article tell your friends. We can’t make money on the article unless you like it.
Thanks
